Treatment of Sebopsoriasis with Itraconazole:Behandlung von Sebopsoriasis mit Itraconazole

Summary: Ten patients with sebopsorlasis were treated with itraconazole in doses of 50–100 mg daily for 6 weeks. All patients bad lesions on the scalp and face and eight patients also had lesions on the trunk and extremities. Scalp lesions responded best. One patient was completely cured and in 2 the scalp lesions cleared. Pityrosporum orbiculare disappeared after treatment in the cured patient and the fall in number of yeasts was most significant in patients who responded to treatment. Although the study was open and the number of patients too small for any conclusions the good effect of itraconazole in several of the patients, paralleled by a fall in the number of P. orbiculare indicates a possible role of this yeast in sebopsoriasis. Zusammenfassung: Zehn Patienten mlt Sebopsoriasis wurden täglich 6 Wochen lang mit Itraconazole in Dosen von 50–100 mg behandelt. Alle Patienten hatten VeräInderungen arn Scheitel und im Gesicht 8 Patienten hatten auch Veränderungen am Rumpf und an den Amen und Beinen. Die Herde an der Kopfhaut reagierten sehr gut auf die Behandlung. Ein Patient wurde vollständig geheilt und bei 2 weiteren Patienten heilten die Herde an der Kopfhaut. Pityrosporum orbicalare war nach der Behandlung bei den geheilten Patienten verschwunden und die Verringenurg der Keimzahlen war am ansgeprägtesten bei Patienten, die auf die Behandlung reagierten. Obwohl es sich um eine offene Studie handelte und die Anzehl der Patienten für jeden schlüssigen Beweis zu gering war, dentet die gute Wirkung von Itraconazole bei vielen der behandelten Patienten und die Verringerung der Keimzahlen von P. orbicalare daranf hin, daß dieser Pilz eine Rolle bei der Sebopsoriasis spielen könnte.
