Hair Loss Following Kerion Celsi‐A Follow‐up Examination

Summary: For an evaluation of hair loss following kerion Celsi, 18 patients were reexamined more than two years after griseofulvin treatment Hair counts in previously affected areas averaged 103.3, in unaffected areas 302 per cm 2 , a difference which was statistically significant. Four patients had nearly normal hairgrowth, 7 decreased hairgrowth with normal hair covering the lesions, 4 showed decreased hairgrowth without covering of lesions by normal hair and 3 patients had severe alopecia. Zusammenfassung: Zur Beurteilung des Haarverlustes infolge Kerion Celsi wurden 18 Patienten mehr als 2 Jahre nach der Behandlung mit Griseofulvin erneut untersucht. Haarzählungen der früher befallenen Stellen ergaben durchschnittlich 103,3 Haare per cm 2 , der nichtbefallenen Stellen 302 Haare per cm 2 , eine statistisch signifikante Differenz. 4 Patienten batten fast normalen Haarwuchs, 7 verminderten Haarwuchs mit Deckung der Läsionen durch normales Haar, 4 verminderten Haarwuchs ohne Deckung durch normales Haar und 3 hatten eine schwere Alopezie.
