Zusammenfassung: 1982/83 wurde aus Glaskörpermaterial von fünf Patienten, das mittels eines Ocutome's® aufgefangen worden war, Exophiala jeanselmei (Langeron) McGinnis et Padhye 1977, isoliert Der Pilz wurde auch im Ansatzstück des Schraubverschlusses des Entnahmebehälters des Gerätes nachgewiesen. Die primäre Infektionsquelle für das Gerät, das nach Äthylenoxid‐Sterilisation keimfrei war, konnte nur vermutet werden. Summary: In 1982/83, Exophiala jeanselmel (Langeron) McGinnis and Padhye 1977 was isolated from the vitreous material of five patients, obtained by means of an Ocutome® s. This fungus was also isolated from the place of attachment of the screw closure of the apparatus. The primary source of infection of the apparatus which was sterile after sterilization with ethylene‐oxide could not be determined.
