Zur Desinfektion von Strumpfgeweben und Ledersorten nach Kontamination mit Candida albicans und anderen Hefepilzen

Zusammenfassung: Untersuchung an insgesamt 18 Desinfektionsmitteln zur Überprüfung der Frage, ob die in den offiziellen Desinfektionsmittellisten für die Wäschedesinfektion empfohlenen Konzentrationen und Anwendungszeiten auch für Strümpfe, Feingewebe und Leder benutzt werden können, die mit Candida albicans und anderen Hefen längere Zeit kontaminiert wurden. Alle geprüften und für die Wäschedesinfektionsmittel empfohlenen Desinfektionsmittel zeigten auch unter den veränderten Versuchsbedingungen fungizide Wirkung bei Einhaltung der Empfehlungen. Allerdings muß bei einigen der geprüften Mittel schon bei geringen Abweichungen von der jeweiligen Empfehlung mit eingeschränkter Wirkung gerechnet werden. Summary: 18 disinfectants were tested against Candida albicans and a few other yeasts using a modified germ carrier method. Samples of synthetic and mixed fabrics as well as leather samples were contaminated experimentally over a period of 5 to 7 days. The results showed that the recommended concentrations and exposure times as given in the official list of chemical disinfectants guarantee sufficient fungicidal action as long as the recommendations are strictly observed. With some disinfectants, however, slight variation of the disinfection procedures might lead to insatisfactory results. This is in contrast to findings with dermatophytes where there exists a more or less pronounced margin of safety in the recommended concentrations and exposure times.
