Summary: In the present paper the agar dilution technique is compared with the agar diffusion technique in relation to susceptibility of yeasts under routine test conditions. A total of 100 strains were tested. The agents for which susceptibility tests are most likely to be required are amphotericin B, nystatin, 5‐fluorocytosine, clotrimazol and miconazol. With yeasts, there are satisfactory correlations between the two methods. The correlation of amphotericin B and nystatin could be increased if the usually employed concentration of drugs in the diffusion technique would be reduced.
