Summary On routine examination of women seen in the policlinic of the Rheinische Landes‐Frauenklinik, Wuppertal, the following two cases were noteworthy.1) Woman of 29 years of age, 6 weeks after delivery, no subjective complaints. Vaginal findings: little unspecific fluor albus, vaginal mucosa and cervix normal. 2) Woman of 23 years of age, in the 7th month of pregnancy, no complaints. Vaginal findings: fairly marked, somewhat granular fluor, vaginal mucosa slightly reddened. In unstained preparations of the vaginal secretion, collected with a sterile duckbilled speculum, bacteria were found, hyphae, and conidiophores with clearly recognizable metulae and phialids with deteched conidiospores. In both cases the hyphae and conidiophores definitely belonged to a fungus of the genus Penicillium. Regrettably, culturing of the fungi was no longer possible, because the material has already been discarded.
