RNA contents were reduced in rice leaves after infection by Pyricularia oryzea, Decrease was greater with race IE‐2 than with IC‐22. No clear cut differences were found between healthy resistant and susceptible plants but differences between susceptible healthy after inoculation plants were significant. A significant increae in DNA contents was observed after inoculation with either race of P.oryzae.
