Summary Myxobolus colossomatis n. sp. ( Myxosporea ) is described from a pond‐cultured Amazon River fish ( Colossoma macropomum ). The parasite cysts developed in the connective tissue of the fins, gills, heart, liver and serous membranes around the intestine.
