Summary This is the first report of lipoma in the European eel Anguilla anguilla. In a single eel that was obtained from a polyculture fish farm in northern Egypt, a yellowish swelling (10 mm in diameter) was observed near the tip of the lower lip. The tumor was composed of mature lipocytes that occasionally fused into an unlined cystic space.
