Among scab‐resistant apple cultivars, good hosts for the hawthorn spider mite, Tetranychus viennensis Zacher, and for the two‐spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch (Acari, Tetranychidae), were Novamac and Freedom, on the leaves of which the net reproduction rate ( R o ) ranged between 20 and 26, while the worst hosts were the cvs. Primula, Pionier, and Lodel, on the leaves of which the R o index ranged from 8.91 to 15.92
