In the laboratory and in a commercial apple orchard, the neem seed extract Margosan‐O was evaluated at a manufacturer‐recommended rate of 11 per 100 1 water for potential oviposition‐deterring and mortality effects against adults of 2 key orchard pests in eastern North America: plum curculio, Conotrachelus nenuphar (Herbst), and apple maggot, Rhagoletis pomonella (Walsh). We found no evidence for either type of effect against either species.
