A total of 14,537 individuals representing 22 insect species were obtained from 2204 cones of Abies alba Mill. The coenotic groups of insects have been given and the indexes of domination (D), stability of incidences (C), species diversity (d) and Agrell's index of species co‐existence (Ag) have been calculated. Investigations were conducted during 1987–1992 in 14 compartments of the St. Cross Mts. National Park in central Poland.
