The kind of food (semi‐artificial diet, whole corn, crushed corn) on which the stored products insects Plodia interpunctella and Sitotroga cerealella feed, greatly affects its susceptibility to the δ‐endotoxin and β‐exotoxin of Bacillus thuringiensis var. kurstaki HD‐1(Dipel‐2X). The (LC 50 ) value, slope of mortality, 95% confidence limit and variance were determined in each case. The effects on moth emergence and malformation were also detected.
