The role of Aphidius matricariae Hal. and Lysiphlebus cardui (Marsh.) (Hym., Aphidiidae) as parasitoids of Aphis fabae — complex (Hom., Aphididae) in Poland

Two aphidiid parasitoids: Aphidius matricariae Hal. and Lysiphlebus cardui (Marsh.) are recorded for the first time in Poland. L. cardui seems to be one of the numerous parasitoid species of Aphis fabae cirsiiacanthoidis Scop. associated with Philadelphus coronarius L. Both parasitoid species L. cardui and A. matricariae seem to play the non‐important role in the natural control of the abundance of the Aphis fabae fabae Scop. in the beet agroecosystem. The competition between L. cardui and L. fabarum (Marsh.) on the black bean aphid ( Aphis fabae complex) on the different host plants has been described. The specificity of above mentioned parasitoids to the A. fabae complex has been discussed. Zusammenfassung Zur Bedeutung von Aphidius matricariae Hal. und Lysiphlebus cardui (Marsh.) (Hym., Aphidiidae) als Parasitoide des Aphis‐fabae‐Komplexes (Hom., Aphididae) in Polen Die beiden Parasitoide, Aphidius matricariae und Lysiphlebus cardui traten erstmals in Polen auf. L. cardui scheint einer der zahlreichen Parasitoide von Aphis fabae cirsiiacanthoides Scop. zu sein, der gemeinsam mit Philadelphus coronarius L. auftritt. Beide Parasitoiden spielen offensichtlich eine untergeordnete Rolle in der natürlichen Reduktion von A. fabae fabae Scop. in der Landwirtschaft. Das Konkurrenzverhältnis zwischen L. cardui und L. fabarum (Marsh.) bei der Parasitierung von A. fabae wurde anhand verschiedener Wirtspflanzen untersucht; ebenso wird deren Spezifität für den A.‐fabae‐Komplex diskutiert.
