Coloured sticky traps for Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande) (Thysanoptera, Thripidae) in glasshouses

Sticky traps with a total of 20 different colours and shades were tested with a view to finding the optimum shade of colour for a sticky trap to attract the western flower thrips, Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande), in glasshouses. A blue shade was found best for attracting F. occidentalis. Sticky traps in this shade are an efficient tool for detecting initial attacks of F. occidentalis in glasshouses. Zusammenfassung Gefärbte Leimfalien zum Fang von Frankliniella occidentalis (Thysanoptera, Thripidae) in Gewächshäusern Gefärbte Leimfallen mit insgesamt 20 verschiedenen Farben und Nuancen wurden geprüft, um die optimale Nuance einer Leimfalle zur Anziehung vom “Western Flower Thrips” F. occidentalis (Pergande) in Gewächshäusern zu finden. Eine blaue Nuance erwies sich als die beste zur Anlockung von F. occidentalis. Leimfallen in dieser Nuance bilden ein effektives Werkzeug zur frühen Entdekkung des Befalls mit F. occidentalis in Gewächshäusern.
