Dosage response of the ambrosia beetle Trypodendron lineatum (Oliver) (Coleoptera, Scolytidae) to semiochemicals

The addition of the host tree component, α‐pinene to a mixture of ethanol and the perhomone lineatin significantly increased the capture of T. lineatum in drainpipe traps. Release rates of α‐pinene above a certain limit reduced the catches. The release rate of ethanol influenced the response of females to the traps. Zusammenfassung Dosierungsabhängiges Verhalten von Trypodendron lineatum (Ol.) (Col., Scolytidae) gegenüber Duftstoffen Die Hinzufügung der Rindenduftstoff‐Komponente α‐Pinen zu einer Mischung von Äthanol und dem Trypodendron‐Pheromon Lineatin erhöhte in signifikanter Weise die Fangquote von T. lineatum in Rohrfallen. Dosierungen von α‐Pinen über einen Grenzwert hinaus verringerten die Fangquote. Die Dosierung von Äthanol beeinflußte die Wirkung der Fallen auf die Weibchen.
