Überwachung von Ips sexdentatus ‐Populationen mit synthetischem Lockstoff 1

Monitoring and control of Ips sexdentatus by use of synthetical pheromon Mass outbreaks of Ips sexdentatus in East Anatolia (Turkey) offered an opportunity to test whether this bark beetle (which breeds in Picea orientalis ) reacts in the same way to synthetic pheromones as its middle european conspecific, (which breeds in Pinus sp.). Racemic Ipsdienol, with and without alpha‐pinen, was tested and both variations proved suitable for monitoring this species' abundance. The utilization to a combination of traps and traptrees was especially effective. Zusammenfassung Eine Massenvermehrung von Ips sexdentatus in Ost‐Anatolien (Türkei) bot Gelegenheit zu prüfen, ob der dort an der Orientfichte (Picea orientalis) vorkommende Käfer in der gleichen Weise auf synthetische Lockstoffe reagiert, wie seine an der Kiefer ( Pinus sp.) brütenden Artgenossen bei uns. Getestet wurde razemisches Ipsdienol mit und ohne Zusatz von alpha‐Pinen. Beide Formulierungen erwiesen sich für die Überwachung des an der Orientfichte vorkommenden Ips sexdentatus als gut geeignet. Die kombinierte Anwendung von Fallen mit stehenden Fangbäumen war besonders effektiv.
