Aspects of the biology of Euura amerinae (Linnaeus) (Hymenoptera, Tenthredinidae)

Notes on the biology and ecology of Euura amerinae (L.), a gall‐making sawfly on Salix and Populus , are presented. Substantial injury caused to the host was observed in heavily and persistantly attacked plants. Comparisons are made between this species and E. atra (L.). Zusammenfassung Beiträge zur Biologie von Euura amerinae (Linnaeus) (Hymenoptera, Tenthredinidae) Es werden auf Grund eines sehr starken Auftretens von E. amerinae ‐Gallen an Salix im südlichen Schottland Angaben über Verbreitung, Wirtspflanzen, Lebensweise, Parasiten und andere Feinde sowie Wirkung des Befalls auf die Wirtspflanzen dieser Blattwespe gemacht. Des weiteren werden die nahe verwandten Arten E. amerinae und E. atra verglichen.
