Twenty‐six test compounds which include 21 alkylating (14 aziridines and 7 alkyl‐alkane‐sulphonates), 2 thiozolium salts and 3 miscellaneous compounds (derivatives of phosphoramides and S‐triazines) were studied for mortality, fertility and longevity of the pupae and adults of Trogoderma granarium Everts. The aqueous solutions of the test compounds were administered by dipping the pupae and by contact of adults with treated glass and filter paper surfaces on which film deposits were obtained as 1 mg AI/cm 2 . Of all the compounds tested by the above methods, thiotepa has proven to be the best chemosterilant for the pupae and adults, followed by tepa, metepa and Ent 61969 (Bis [1‐aziridinyl) phosphine sulphide, amine).
