Influence of two host plants of peach‐aphids, M. persicae (Sulz.) on the predaceous gallmidge A. aphidimyza (Rond.) The host plants of peach‐aphids ( Myzus persicae [Sulz.]) influence the predaceous gallmidge Aphidoletes aphidimyza (Rond.). In comparison with peach‐aphids reared on brussels sprouts ( Brassica oleracea var. gemmifera ) those individuals reared on broad beans ( Vicia faba ) proved to be of less nutritional value since they reduced the weight of larvae and adults as well as the egg‐production. Similarly the honeydew of peach‐aphids reared on broad beans had less nutritional value for the adults because longevity and egg production were significantly reduced. Both the nutrition of larvae and adults determine the individual longevity and fertility of the adults and the impact on prey‐populations of larvae as well. Zusammenfassung Die Wirtspflanzen von Myzus persicae (Sulz.) üben einen Einfluß auf den räuberischen Feind Aphidoletes aphidimyza (Rond.) aus. Im Vergleich mit Pfirsichläusen von Rosenkohl besaßen diejenigen von Vicia faba einen geringeren Nährwert: Die Gewichte der Larven und Imagines sowie die Eiproduktion waren reduziert. Ebenso besaß der Honigtau von Pfirsichläusen auf Vicia faba für die Adulten eine geringere Qualität: Lebensdauer und Eiproduktion waren stark vermindert. Larven‐ und Imaginalernährung entscheiden gemeinsam über die Leistung der Adulten.
