Effects of two juvenoids on the transmission of beet crincle virus by Piesma quadratum . Two juvenoids were effective in reducing the transmission of beet crincle virus by beet lacebugs ( P. quadratum ). After treatment of fifth instar nymphs a high proportion of the bugs died in the first days of the following adult stage. This mortality was partly responsible for the reduction of virus transmission. On the other hand, the mortality of treated adults was rather low so that an influence of the tested juvenoids on the virus in the insect vector was likely. Zusammenfassung Durch Applikation von zwei Juvenoiden bei Fünftlarven und Imagines der Rübenblatt‐wanze P. quadratum wurde die Fähigkeit der Wanzen zur Übertragung des Rübenkräusel‐virus mehr oder weniger stark reduziert. Nach Behandlung von L 5 trat im folgenden Imaginalstadium eine starke Mortalität ein, die aber nur zum Teil für die geringere Virus‐übertragung durch behandelte Tiere verantwortlich war. Bei behandelten Imagines erwies sich die Mortalität als so gering, daß ein Einfluß der angewendeten Substanzen auf das Virus im Vektor angenommen werden konnte.
