Eupelmus tenuicornis Kieffer (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea), a parasite of Bimba toombii Grover (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae)

Eupelmus tenuicornis Kieffer acts as an ecto‐parasite on the third and fourth instar larvae of the gall‐midge Bimba toombii Grover. Mating and oviposition behaviour are described. There are 5–6 overlapping generations of the parasite in its activity period. The peak period of parasitimsm is October‐November when a large number of galls are parasitized. Zusammenfassung Eupelmus tenuicornis Kieff. (Hym., Chalcidoidea) als Parasit der Gallmücke Bimba toombii Grov. (Dipt., Cecidomyiidae) E. tenuicornis lebt ektoparasitisch an der Dritt‐ und Viert‐Larve von B. toombii. Paarung und Eiablage‐Verhalten werden beschrieben. Der Parasit hat 5 bis 6 sich überschneidende Generationen in seiner Aktivitäts‐Periode. Die höchste Parasitierungs‐Quote wurde im Oktober/November beobachtet.
