Effects of predators on the dispersion of pea aphid ( Acyrthosiphon pisum [Harr.]) . The action of the larvae of the predator Syrphus corollae Fabr. frequently resulted in a fall‐down‐reaction of pea aphids ( A. pisum Harr.) in under glas experiments. Starting from some infested plants the aphids were dispersed totally within few days. Consequently they were discharged from population pressure. The effect of predation was partially and in some special cases completely compenseted by the increased fecundity of the aphids.
