Abstract Polistes exclamans Vier. introduced to Europe from USA together with its parasite hitherto unknown . Hidden in the inside of a special motorcar‐bumper a full grown nest of the American Polistes exclamans Vier. had been transported in Sept. 1969 from Pittsburg (Pennsylvania) to Groß Bieberau/Odenwald (Western Germany). There could be caught 19 emerged exclamans ‐specimens and 25 specimens of a Chalcidide‐parasite unknown even in U.S.A. This species has been described in 1971 by Dr. B urks , Washington, as Elasmus polistis nov. spec.
