A new scent substance attracting males of Apis mellifica (L.) . Heads of the males of the honeybees were extracted with ether or a mixture of ether and ethanol. These extracts, possibly including a scent substance, attract flying males within their congregation places. Zusammenfassung Aus den Köpfen von Drohnen wurden Äther‐ und Äther‐Äthanol‐Extrakte hergestellt. Diese Extrakte, die möglicherweise einen Duftstoff enthalten, locken Drohnen an, die auf ihren Drohnensammelplätzen herumfliegen. Résumé On a extrait des tétes de faux‐bourdons d'abeilles avec de l'éther ou un mélange d'éther et éthanol. Ces extraits, contenant éventuellement une substance olfactive, attirent les faux‐bourdons volant dans le rayon de leurs place de rassemblement.
