Contributions to the Knowledge of the Insect Fauna of Trees in Iraq

41 species of Coleoptera occuring on trees in Iraq, are enumerated of which 25 species are new records not found in the lists published by the Directorate General of Agriculture Research and Projects, Division of Entomology and Plant Pathology, Baghdad. For 16 other species the hosts in Iraq are named for the first time or new hosts are added. Brief notes on local occurrence and biology are made. Zusammenfassung Zur Kenntnis der Insektenfauna der Bäume des Irak. Teil I: Käfer Es werden 41 Käferarten aufgezählt, die von 1965 bis 1968 auf oder in Bäumen im Irak gefunden wurden. Davon sind 25 Erstfunde, die noch nicht in den vom Directorate General of Agric. Research and Projects, Div. of Entomol. and Plant Pathol., Baghdad, veröffent‐lichten Listen enthalten sind. Für die übrigen 16 Arten werden zum ersten Male die Wirtsbaumarten im Irak genannt oder neue Wirtsarten aufgezählt. Es werden kurze Angaben über das lokale Auftreten und die Biologie der gefundenen Käferarten gemacht.
