Zusammenfassung Dem Dank an die Versammlung und an das Kuratorium, das über die Verleihung der Gedenkmünze entscheidet, folgen Ausführungen über Erfahrungen des Vortragenden mit der Getreidewanze, Eurygaster integriceps Put., während eines viermaligen Aufenthaltes in der Türkei und anläßlich einer FAO‐Tagung in Teheran und Isfahan. Die biologische Bekämpfung der Getreidewanze mit Hilfe der Proctotrupide Asolcus semistriatus (Nees) nach dem in Isfahan entwickelten Verfahren ist auch in der Türkei möglich und wirtschaftlich vertretbar. Die chemische Bekämpfung der Getreidewanze unter Einsatz von Flugzeugen aus dem Ausland ist unwirtschaftlich. ‐ Auf Grund der gemachten Erfahrungen werden abschließend Empfehlungen für unsere jungen Experten in den Entwicklungsländern erörtert. Summary Following an expression of thanks to the Assembly and to the Council of Administration responsible for the award of the Memorial Medal, the speaker gives an account of experience with the Wheat Bug, Eurygaster integriceps Put. during four periods spent in Turkey and on the occasion of an FAO meeting in Teheran and Isfahan. The biological control of the Wheat Bug through the agency of the Proctotrupid Asolcus semistriatus (Nees), according to results expounded in Isfahan, is also feasible and economically valid in Turkey. Chemical control of the Wheat Bug, involving the use of importet aircraft, is uneconomic. In conclusion, recommendations are made on the basis of the above results for the guidance of our young experts in the developing countries.
