Preliminary evaluation of Epicoccum purpurascens as a biocontrol agent against wound pathogens on stems of Picea abies

Summary Epicoccum purpurascens was applied to stem wounds of Norway spruce for a preliminary assessment of its potential as a biological protection against decay fungi. E. purpurascens had a significant influence on the composition of the mycoflora of the wounds, analysed 8 months after inoculation.
