The objectives of this study were to determine the reproductive potential and the time required for completion of the life cycle of Bursaphelenchus xylophilus under Finnish summer temperature conditions. The reproductive success of B. xylophilus was compared with the potential of a Finnish isolate of B. mucronatus . The latter appeared more successful in reproduction particularly when cultured on Finns syhestris wood.
