Pigment patterns of Chrysomyxa rbododendri infected Norway spruce needles and carotene composition of Chrysomyxa rhododendri aeciospores were studied. In general, pigment content in rust infected spruce needles is diminished. Aeciospores of Chrysomyxa wododendri contain β‐ and γ‐carotene.
