Ectomycorrhizae of Pinus sylvestris with Cenococcum geophilum, Amanita muscaria , and Pisolithus tinctorius were synthesized in substrates of different acidity (pH 3‐6). The mycorrhizae which then formed were counted respectively. Morphology and ultrastructure are described and discussed. Meristematic abortion in root tips as an indicator of acidity in the substrate is presented in brief.
