Spruce cuttings ( Picea abies ) were subjected to low SO 2 concentrations for almost half a year. Afterwards transpiration and stomatal conductance were measured with a porometer. Transpiration was decreased by SO 2 in light but stomata reacted sluggishly to changed light conditions.
