Investigation into specialisation of Armillaria obscura and Armillaria mellea . Two isolates of A. mellea proved more aggressive than two of A. obscura as regards vine, peach and northern oak. Inversely, the isolates of obscure were more aggressive than those of mellea towards Norway spruce and Maritune pine. On the other hand no type of specialisation was found when investigating the saprophytic phase: oak wood is better than pine wood as regards rhizomorph production for A. observe as well as A. mellea.
