Fungi occurring in forest injured by air pollutants in the Upper Silesia and Cracow industrial Regions. IX. Mycoflora on Quercus robur L. and Q. rubra L. located in a zone with medium‐high air pollution damage . Results are presented after three years of investigations concerning fungi which are implicated in diseases and dying of 6–8 year‐old Q. robur and Q. rubra , which are used to reforest old Pinus sylvestris L. stands previously damaged by air pollution. 24 and 36 fungal species were identified on the above‐ground parts of Q. robur and Q. rubra , respectively. The role of the following fungi in the disease and dying processes has been described in detail. Amphiporthe leiphacmia, Colpoma quercinum, Fusicoccum quercus, Pezicula cinnamomea and Phomopsis quercella . Pathological activity of these fungi and the intensification of dying of both oak species was presented according to the pre‐reforestation treatments.
