Several conifer nurseries were visited in Piedmont (Italy) and soil and root‐samples were taken and examined for plant‐parasitic nematodes. In these investigations damage to the mycorrhizae caused by phytohelminths, most frequently through their trophic activity on the tissue of the host plant, has been observed.
