A needle blight disease caused by a species Cercospora was observed prevalent in Luzon and Mindanao islands of the Philippines. The disease was observed on Pinus kesiya, P. merkusii and P. caribaea. The causal organism was identified as Cercospora pini‐densiflorae Hori et Nambu through studies on the morphological characteristics and pathogenicity. This is the first report on the fungus from the Philippines, and Pinus kesiya is recorded as a new host for the fungus.
