Santalum album Linn. in its natural habitat is parasitic on a number of herbs, shrubs and trees. Of these host little‐leaf disease is common in Stachytarpheta, Dendrocalamus, Randia, Dichrastacbys, Acacia, Eucalyptus, Barleria and Scutia . Mycoplasma‐like‐organisms have been confirmed on some of the hosts by means of electron microscopy.
