A hithcrto unrecorded Periderminm spccies was found on shoots of Pinus pumila Regel in Hokkaido, Japan. The rust has unbranched and uninucleate germ tubes with pointcd tips. Alternate host plants have not been found. The rust is considered to be a pine‐to‐pine species.
