A wild and presumably female African elephant ( Loxodonta africana ) was observed when she threw with her trunk various materials ‐ mud, soil, vegetation ‐ to an interfering white rhino ( Ceratotherium simum ). Objectthrowing, a special type of animal tool‐behaviour, seems to be used by elephants not only in aggression but also for exploration
