Genetic and endocrinological studies in a patient with the XYY Syndrome

Summary Cytogenetic and endocrinological studies were made in a patient suspected of hypogonadism. The chromosomal analysis was conducted on a leucocyte culture according to M oorhead et al. The 47, XYY karyotype was found. The autoradiographic analysis as modified by S chmid confirmed the presence of this anomaly. The histology of the testes, dermatoglyphic, psychological, ECG and EEG examinations were made too. Moreover the hormonal profile had been evaluated. Zusammenfassung Zytogenetische und endokrinologische Untersuchungen wurden bei einem Patienten verdächtig des Hypogonadismus durchgeführt. Die chromosomale Analyse der Leukozyten nach M oorhead et al. ergab einen Karyotyp 47, XYY. Die autoradiographische Analyse in der von S chmid angegebenen Modifikation bestätigte die Existenz dieser Anomalie. Außerdem wurden die histologischen Untersuchungen des Hodens, sowie auch dermatoglyphische, psychologische, EKG‐, EEG‐Untersuchungen durchgeführt. Das hormonale Profil des Patienten wurde ausgewertet. Résumé L'étude cytogénétique et endocrinologique a été entreprise chez un sujet suppçonné de l'hypogonadisme. L'analyse chromosomique a été realisée à partir d'une culture de leucocytes selon la technique de M oorhead et coll. On a été trouvé le karyotype 47, XYY. L'étude autoradiographique selon une modification de la technique de S chmid confirme l'existence de cette anomalie. On a été realisé aussi des études dermatogliphiques, psychologiques, histologiques de biopsie testiculaire, ECG et EEG. On a été evalué le profil hormonal.
