The iliopubic cartilages of 70 greyhounds (30 males and 40 females) were studied in animals ranging in age from 18 months to 4 years. A combination of anatomic dissection and radiographie techniques was used to characterize the incidence of ossification or mineralization. An increase incidence of radiodense areas was demonstrated in female animals, but it was not statistically significant. The probable functional role of the iliopubic cartilage is discussed.
