In three donkeys the postnatal development of the teeth was studied at close intervals up to two years of age in one case and up to 5½ years in the other two cases. The findings were checked against the teeth in fÜrther 27 donkeys of known ages and two donkeys of estimated ages. The incisors were studied primarily by inspection and palpation, but also radiographically; whilst the cheekteeth were examined mainly radiographically. The teeth of the donkey are narrower than those of the horse, and their replacement occurs about 3 months later than in the horse.
