SUMMARY Herposiphonia didymosporangia nov. spec. is described from material collected on the coast of the Cape Peninsula, South Africa. Within the genus Herposiphonia this species is unique in possessing two tetrasporangia per segment, as opposed to one sporangium in all other species.
