SUMMARY A component absorbing around 655 nm is observed in the approximate red absorption band of chlorophyll b in Uiva lactuca . The results suggest that this component represents a form of chlorophyll a rather than chlorophyll b . Therefore, no indication that chlorophyll b occurs in more than a single form in vivo is obtained.
