SUMMARY The history of the nomenclature of Cadia has been compiled. Cadia , which is judged to belong in Caesalpiniaceae , has six species, all except one indigenous in Madagascar. A key is given, the geographical distribution mapped; Platycelyphium Harms and Dicraeopetalum Harms, which belong in Papilionaceae , are surveyed.
