Primary structure of the neutral carbohydrate chains of hemocyanin from Panulirus interruptus

The N ‐glycosidic carbohydrate chains of Panulirus interruptus hemocyanin, consisting of only mannose and N ‐acetylglucosamine residues, were liberated by hydrazinolysis of a pronase digest of the purified glycoprotein. The carbohydrate chains were fractionated by high‐voltage paper electrophoresis, yielding mainly neutral oligosaccharide‐alditols.
