Total poly(A)‐containing RNA from Brockmann bodies of carp (Cyprinus carpio) directs the synthesis of authentic carp proinsulin in Xenopus oocytes . Neither preproinsulin nor further processing of pronisulin to insulin can be detected in the oocytes.
