The monomer molecular weight of C‐phycocyanin from three different algal sources was investigated. The techniques used for determining molecular weight included high speed sedimentation equilibrium, osmotic pressure measurements in 6 M guanidine hydrochloride, and cyanogen bromide peptide analysis. All measurements were consistent with a monomer molecular weight of 30000 ± 1000 for C‐phycocyanin isolated from all algal sources.
