A fraction of neutral steroids having the mobility of reference steroid glucuronides was obtained by chromatography of human bile on Sephadex LH‐20. The conjugates in this fraction were hydrolysed with β‐glucuronidase and the liberated steroids fractionated on silicic acid. The following C 19 O 2 and C 21 O 2 steroids were identified by gas‐liquid chromatography and gas chromatography‐mass spectrometry: 3α‐hydroxyandrost‐5‐en‐17‐one, androsterone, etiocholanolone, dehydroepiandrosterone, 3α‐hydroxy‐5β‐pregnan‐20‐one, pregnenolone, 5α‐androstane‐3α, 17β‐diol, 5β‐androstane‐3α, 17β‐diol, 5β‐pregnane‐3α, 20α‐diol and pregn‐5‐ene‐3β, 20α‐diol.
