The assembly of protein subunits and RNA of the icosahedral, RNA‐containing bacteriophage fr was studied. Conditions were found under which the constituents could be specially reaggregated to form virus‐like particles, a small fraction of which was infective. The RNA seems to be essential for the assembly process.
